Stratocumulus
Not all the clouds can fit into the main categories as we have already seen
with use of the prefixes and suffixes, but not even all the clouds can fit into
those expanded categories. For this reason they have had to combine the names
of the stratus and the cumulus clouds. This gave rise to the stratocumulus clouds,
which are soft and gray looking. They are made up of water droplets and quite
often cover the entire sky. These clouds are not thick and you can see the blue
sky in the breaks of the clouds. They are found under 5280 feet.
